‘Slow Drift’ is a laid back editorial with very little manufacturing and no pretense. Conceptualized by photographer Marco Michieletto (a Libertine favorite) this story marries feminine charm with easy energy and simplistic styling. For this latest Libertine exclusive, Marco captures young Italian beauty, Deborah Parcesepe, passing a wistful afternoon at home in Milano, Italy. The shoot wanders through the brightly lit open spaces of a European flat, drinking in a moment alone with this ambrosial new talent. Deborah styled all of her own looks for ‘Slow Drift’; lending to the authentic intimacy of this stunning portraiture. She seems to have an almost ethereal quality about her bare faced beauty…like a breath of fresh air. Enjoy!

Khoa Bui has been featured on The Libertine in the past, so naturally, we were thrilled to bring you this newest story formulated by the talented photographer.  Khoa cast scorching beauty, Natalie Morris, as the subject of ‘Sterling Silver’, an editorial brought to you exclusively by Khoa Bui and The Libertine’s Summer Session. Natalie transforms from glowing and classic to smokey and ardent; this editorial encapsulates the entire gamete of feminine charms. The beauty palettes were created by makeup artist Nathan Hejl, while her gorgeous coif was styled by Melissa Adelaide. As part of our Summer Session, The Libertine was pleased to collaborate with photographer Katja Kremenic to bring our readers this ethereal summer 2013 lookbook for exotic new resort label, Cariblanco. The series, created in Costa Rica, captures Swiss/Costarricense designer-turned-model Fabiana Kuhn in an array of soft and eclectic leisurewear, as she explores the jungles, coast lines and breath taking horizons of a tropical paradise. This story  transports the reader to a peninsular oasis where wayfarers sleep late, subsist on natures bounty and never have an obligation to get fully dressed. The editorial, entitled ‘The Attic’, is a fusion of classic artistry and dramatic sensuality, framed against a setting of opulent luxury. A collaboration between exotic model Bee Dee Pearson and photographer Blooming Flowers; the story captures the essence of feminine allure, as a beautiful young woman disrobes within the sanctuary of an attic in her paradisaical South American retreat. Reminiscent of some of the great classical works from the likes of Helmut Newton and Irving Penn, the shoot features tasteful nude portraiture with very little styling or over production. As The Libertine transitions into the amber cast afternoons of autumn, we enthusiastically unveil the highly anticipated collection of stories that compose our second exclusive series here on The Zine: The Fall Flight. For the first installment in the series, The Libertine is honored to bring you another collaboration with one of our favorite lens masters, Akila Berjaoui.

Since foundation of The Libertine in 2009, Akila‘s work has been a constant source of inspiration and motivation in developing our own publication! The freedom, feminine idolatry and sensual revelry communicated through out her work, embodies our sybaritic philosophy here at The Libertine.

For our latest story, ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, Akila‘s Casting Director, Simone Hush, designated Libertine favorite, Jessica Sikosek, to portray the jilted bride that finds respite for her broken heart on the glistening beaches of the Italian Riviera. Adorned in edgy yet feminine looks created by stylist Amy Bannerman, Jess is every bit the ‘jilted bride’ turned ‘blissed out babe on the rebound’. Amy’s sultry vision was tangibly enhanced by the accompanying hair/beauty looks; expertly envisioned and executed by beauty pro, Helena Lyons. For the finishing touches on the editorial, the fabulous Madeline Carroll designed the illustrations for our cover; fierce and fresh!

As she always does, Akila formed a playful bond of friendship with her subject; allowing a natural emergence of gaiety and beauty throughout the vivid images. It is the youthful aura and unapologetic sass to Akila‘s work, that has us so enchanted with her here at The Libertine. She somehow, never fails to see the extraordinary in the quotidian…and for that Ms. Berjaoui has our unending admiration and adulation.

As much as a dramatic location can set the stage for a stunning editorial, sometimes shooting in the studio is a more complementary frame for both the model and the wardrobe. ‘Baby Blues’, shot for the Libertine by photographer Willy Ward, is just such a story. Featuring rising star Britt Nicholas, the editorial’s palette of deep blues beautifully contrasts with the models natural warmth. Britt’s easy energy gives the shoot a clean and cool feel that finds its perfect marriage in the denim ensembles compiled by stylist Ellen Purtill. The Libertine has the tremendous pleasure of collaborating again with master photographer, Adolfo Valente on a new sensual masterpiece entitled ‘Comely, Tender’. The glowing and ethereal editorial depicts delicate Italian beauty, Daiana Di Finizio in the sweet bloom of life. Hazy, shadowed rooms and golden morning rays cast intrigue and subtle dreaminess to the portraiture. Her gaze echos throughout the series and lingers with you after. Reminiscent of the iconic beauty of Ali MacGraw, Daiana is purely enchanting. This is another memorable series, and a perfect compliment to our already heavy-hitting Fall Flight series!

This exquisite editorial, ‘Forgotten Ancestors’, was composed exclusively for The Libertine, as a collaboration between visionary photographer Dusan Jaukovic and couture designer Jelena Malesevic (for her personal line: Morfium Couture). The shots are purely transcendental, and model Li Xiao Xing becomes every bit the beautiful embodiment of the designs. Bold and alluring designs complement Li’s finely sculpted features and the natural beauty of one of the longest enduring sanctuaries inhabited by the Lenape people before colonization. There is a subtle mysticism to the surroundings, that is echoed in both Jelena’s creations and Li’s powerful aura. Though this story is both light and fresh, reminiscent of the longer days of summer, it felt like a perfect balancing element for our fall flight series. Not to mention, that the images are breath-taking. Enjoy!

The Libertine brings you an amazing new story with sky-rocketing young face, Vita Sidorkina! This editorial, ‘Tripping The Light Fantastic’, is the brain child of revolutionary fashion photographer Kailas; who is a new talent on our radar, and one that we are absolutely thrilled to endorse. Focusing on light and color manipulation, the images frame Vita as a mercurial siren, exploring the tactile world of the senses and her capacity for pleasure. Becoming the muse was a breeze for Vita with the help of beauty artist Jourdan Dudgeon.
